Brush guards not only add extra weight to your vehicle, meaning that you will use more gas to get where you’re going, but they also make your vehicle less aerodynamic, reducing your gas mileage.

Whatever the reason was that you put the brush guard on the front of your vehicle in the first place, it probably isn’t as important as finding ways to save gas. Get rid of the brush guard!
