In past weeks, as part of our money saving tips for transportation series, we’ve talked about ways to improve gas mileage by making your vehicle more aerodynamic. By reducing drag, you can significantly improve gas mileage and, therefore, save money.
So, when it comes to frugal living and ways to save money on transportation, brush guards are not thrifty. Brush guards not only add extra weight to your vehicle, meaning that you will use more gas to get where you’re going, but they also make your vehicle less aerodynamic, reducing your gas mileage.
Whatever the reason was that you put the brush guard on the front of your vehicle in the first place, it probably isn’t as important as finding ways to save gas. Get rid of the brush guard!
